Your Words

Your words found me
Amid the pain
A lifeline in those trying days
They reminded me to believe
To pray
To believe in the power of faith
You knew that a heart
So broken and dismayed
So alone and afraid
Could be saved
Your words
Encouraged me to change
They reached the depths of my soul
Helped me to gain control
Of emotions so raw
To relinquish the pain
My life was rewritten
And confidence regained
My grief was transformed to strength
By the power
Of your profound words
Do You Ever Think of Me
Tuesday, October 6, 2020
Do you ever think of me
Do I ever cross your mind
Something akin to
Etched love letters
Wrapped tightly with twine
Do your thoughts ever drift
To those guileless days
Of carefree innocence
When I was yours
And you were mine
Cherished memories
Pressed firmly, as petals
Within the pages
Of eternal time
Treasured hidden passages
Captured in black and white
Are never far away
Whenever I close my eyes
Buried hushed images
Forever remain
Vividly, vibrantly alive
Heartfelt reminders
Of what could have been
If only we were given
More time
After so many years
This question lingers
Its answer, I can’t find
Do your ever think of me
Do I ever cross your mind
Moonlight
Monday, October 5, 2020
It’s 2 am again
Watching shadows
Dance upon the wall
A welcome refrain
An enchanting array
Flowing, swirling
Two hearts at play
In a trance-a dream
So alive
Or so it seems
This nighttime bliss
Too soon comes
To an abrupt end
By the amber glow
As morning begins
This evening ritual
A prophetic scene
Two lovers
Sharing an endless dream
This orchestrated vigil
A waltz, a play
A kiss
A dance
Total bliss
Until morning appears
An unwanted scene
The light of day
A forced reality
If only life
Could be so simple
As shadows dancing
Upon a wall
No danger, no sadness
No sorrow or death
Only a lifetime of
Happiness
Forever held within
Loving arms
Choreographed as
A love that flows
And never dies
A dance
A kiss
A moonlit bliss
Why can’t life
Be as simple as this
What Would I Give
Monday, September 28, 2020
What would I give
To return to those days
Those where we were unafraid
Free to run, to laugh, to live
Fearless childhood bliss
What would I give
To once again
Hold your hand
Walk with you
Grow old with you
And feel the love
That we once had
The life that we once lived
What would I give
I'd give this time
These extra days
That I've lived alone
This life that I've made
I'd give it all, all away
I'd sacrifice
All that I am
All that I have
To be with you again
So many times I’ve
Tried to regress
Tried to go back
To return
But my search always
Ends the same
I can't find you
Despite visits to
Old familiar places
I've waited for hours
Examining faces
Searching for you
But you never came
I promised the stars
That I'd do anything
Just to be
With you again
Until then
I've resigned myself
To wait patiently
To live out this life
Remembering
How it used to be
What would I give
Anything and everything
Silence
Sunday, September 13, 2020
Transgressing words
A clear communication
Acutely heard
Signaling that change
Is coming
Like the wind
A storm on the horizon
Or news underway
Regardless
Life will never be the same
Thoughts hidden
Quietly we forbear
Avoiding decisions
Hastily made
Truth so acquiescent
Wordless events
Silence so powerful
It demands respect
The future promises
To start again
Pray in solitude
Resistance refrained
Silence speaks volumes
Quietly within
Blessed
Tuesday, August 25, 2020
My heart beats to love sincerely
My heart is open to trust again
Your interminable strength
Your resolute patience
While waiting for me
To accept
Under your wings
I have been lifted
Now ready to experience
All the love you have to give
Now stronger more confident
Boldly unafraid
Your gentle touch heals me
Your tears wash away my pain
Thank you
For guiding, protecting and saving me
Mere words can never proclaim
My gratitude for your unselfish gift
Your genuine love
I’m blessed
A Peaceful Calm
Saturday, July 25, 2020
Ocean waves crashing
Cascading and rearranging
Patterns in the sand
As I watch mesmerized
At the beauty of its precision
How its flow has no end
How such a powerful force
Can gently ease my soul
The sound so peaceful
Pounding harshly
As it rolls
I’m hypnotized
Revitalized by the beauty unfolding
Before my eyes
The salty mist caresses my skin
Natures gentle kiss
As the icy trickle
Tickles my toes
Once again
Refreshed renewed restored
Grateful that this one thing
Has managed to remain the same
Majestic, powerful and strong
With a constant reassurance
A welcome home
Calling my name
As it has
So many times before
